Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:The Lift Mechanic performs diagnostics, service
repairs and maintenance work on distribution center
equipment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Schedules and performs routine maintenance.
- Repairs and replaces damaged or worn parts.
- Operates and inspects machines to diagnose defects.
- Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or
assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with
manufacturers' specifications.
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work
on equipment.
- Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and
technical drawings.
- Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs,
using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test
equipment and calibration devices.
- Researches, orders, and maintains parts inventory for service
and repairs.
- Repairs, rewires, and troubleshoots electrical systems.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers
and gauges.
- Examines and repairs hydraulic system.
- Examines and repairs brake systems on all equipment.
- Cleans parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing
them in tanks of solvent.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent,
forklift truck mechanics training course certification or at least
1 year experience in related mechanical field preferred.
- In depth mechanical knowledge of material handling
products
- Proper use of hand and power tools
- Good knowledge of principles and processes for providing
customer and personal service
- Good Techniques in repairing equipment
- Excellent mechanical knowledge
- Excellent knowledge on safety and ergonomicsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,
